Robert Hepler Lowe was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on March 17, 1964. His mother was a schoolteacher, while his father was a trial attorney. He has a younger brother named Chad. Lowe was baptized into the Episcopal church and grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where he went to Oakwood Junior High School after his parents’ divorce.
