Ruben Dias is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a center-back for Manchester City and the Portugal national team. Dias made his debut for Portugal in a friendly against Tunisia on 11 June 2018, coming on as a late substitute for Manuel Fernandes. Despite being present at the World Cup, he did not feature in any of Portugal’s four matches in the competition. However, Dias began establishing himself in the senior side following the World Cup, appearing in all eight of Portugal’s UEFA Nations League matches. On 15 October 2018, he started in a 1–0 away victory over Poland, helping Portugal keep a clean sheet.

Ruben Dias began his career after being brought to Estrela da Amadora by a close family member. Dias started as a forward for his team, but due to their deficit of two goals at halftime, he moved to defense.
