AC Milan

On August 16, Locatelli departed for Sassuolo on a season-long loan with the option to purchase. He requested to go but later said he stayed due to a lack of faith in him from the club. On August 13, 2018, Locatelli moved to Sassuolo on loan with an obligation to buy if certain conditions were met.
He made his Inter debut in 2011-12 and played 31 matches, scoring three goals (versus Catania in the Coppa Italia and Cagliari and Genoa in Serie A).

On August 18, 2021, Juventus announced that they had loaned Locatelli to the club for two years with an option to buy him for €25 million paid over three years plus €12.5 million in potential add-ons.
Locatelli reunited with Massimiliano Allegri, who had previously been Milan’s head coach, and called him up to train with the senior team at 15 years of age at Juventus.
