NBA G League Ignite (2020–2021)
Green signed a one-year, $600,000 deal with the NBA G League Ignite, a developmental club connected with the NBA G League, on April 16, 2020. He was the first member of the squad to join. Green had a season-high 30 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. In a 127–102 first-round playoff defeat to the Raptors 905 on March 8, 2021. He scored 17.9 points per game, grabbed 4.1 rebounds, and dished out 2.8 assists.
Houston Rockets (2021–present)
Green was drafted second overall in the 2021 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets on July 29, 2021. He made his summer league debut on August 8, scoring 23 points, five rebounds, and two assists in 30 minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers. After missing the last three of five games due to tightness in his right hamstring, he was named to the All-Summer League Second Team.
On October 5, he made his preseason debut with 12 points, six rebounds, and two assists in a 125–119 win over the Washington Wizards. Green made his NBA debut on October 20, scoring nine points, grabbing four rebounds, and dishing out four assists in a 124–106 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
