Joseph went to Ajax, Ontario’s Pickering High School. In 2007 and 2008, he and his brother Devoe led the school’s AAA basketball team to back-to-back Ontario provincial titles, defeating Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute in the finals both years. During that time, their father was the team’s assistant coach. He and Devoe were chosen to compete in the annual All-Canada Classic in 2008, which features the best high school players in Canada.

Following the season, he was ranked #7 nationally by Rivals.com and #11 in the ESPNU 100, averaging 18.8 points, 4.9 assists, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. After that, Joseph took part in the McDonald’s All-American Game in 2010. He was also selected as a Jordan Brand Classic All-American and won the McDonald’s Three-Point Competition.

Joseph was dealt with the Detroit Pistons on March 26, 2021. Along with two future second-round draft selections for Delon Wright. Joseph was then wavering deals by the Pistons on July 31, 2021. The Pistons re-signed Joseph on August 11, 2021.
