He achieved his third consecutive clean sheet for the team in the game, which resulted in a 4-0 victory.
Kelleher’s Premier League debut was equally as impressive, keeping a clean sheet against Watford at 22 years and 13 days. He became the third-youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet in Premier League and the youngest to do so on his first league start. After several excellent performances, manager Jürgen Klopp revealed that Kelleher had been promoted to the second choice behind Alisson and ahead of Adrián. Liverpool also reported attempting to negotiate a new long-term contract with Kelleher on improved terms.
Kelleher signed a new long-term deal with the club on June 24, 2021. He said that he was happy to commit his future to the club for a few more years. Likewise, James Pearce, a journalist who covers Liverpool F.C., said that it was a good decision by the club to give Kelleher a new contract and that he is now Alisson’s Number 2.
